Job Title: Network Architect
Location: Piscataway, NJ & unanticipated client locations throughout US
Position Summary:
Provide architecture consulting for strategic initiatives across the enterprise with focus on network design, network security, WAN optimization, policy standards, and Infrastructure as a Service. Evaluate, define and maintain optimal IT/engineering infrastructure standards and designs involving the network, LAN, WAN, VPN, and security. Perform network modeling, analysis and planning. Develop and update infrastructure, multi-layer network architecture components and technology roadmap. Translate business requirements into network architecture and designs. Drive implementation of proof-of-concept projects and lab trials from concept to delivery with a focus on new technologies, particularly Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networks (SDN). Oversee multiple highly complex technology solutions based on a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources. Conduct vendor analysis against client requirements and proofs-of-concept and statements of work for new solutions respectively. Design may include but not limited to high end routers, switches, Load Balancers, WAN Optimization, Network Application and performance management and firewalls from vendors including Cisco and Juniper. Lead capacity planning and performance tuning efforts. Develop and execute new initiatives to drive growth, reduce cost and increase reliability. Provide L3 support for design and implementation and serve as escalation for L1 and L2 respectively.
Requires:
Master’s in Computer Science/Information Systems, Information Technology or Electronics/Electrical Engineering + minimum 1 year experience as Network Architect, Network, Systems or Technical Services Engineer or related.
